Head Coach - Kurt Hofius
I am Kurt Hofius. I swam for Piedmont Bend for 10 years, and coached for Piedmont Bend four years. I swam for Marist School, achieving an individual state qualifying time in the 200 yard freestyle, and lettering all four years. I swim currently for the University of Georgia Swim Club. My beliefs for Summer League are skill building and fun. My hope for any team is that the kids can have fun and learn great swimming technique.
Junior Coach - Laura Blackman
I learned to swim at 3 years old and became a Barracuda at the age of 6. I used to swim year round with Stingrays and have been on Sprayberry High School's swim team for three years. I look forward to continuing to swim for the High School in my senior year. I enjoy working as a camp counselor at the East Cobb Y, but my favorite thing of all is summer swim. We are one big family, and I’m excited about my position as a junior coach this year. I’m looking forward to a fun and exciting season…..Go Barracudas!!
Junior Coach - Jillian Hart
My name is Jillian Hart, I am 18 years old and I have been swimming on the Piedmont Bend Baracudas since I was 8 years old. Swimming was in my family because of my older sister, so when my family and I moved here we searched for a summer league for all three of us, my big sister, little sister and I, to swim on and we stumbled upon the Piedmont Bend Barracudas. My mom, Jane Hart, became the coordinator for the Barracudas when I was 11 until I was 16 years old so this swim team seems to have always been my main priority in the month of June. I have also cheered, swam, played lacrosse, and been in a couple of honors societies at Sprayberry High School.
Junior Coach - Shannon Morrow
I have been swimming with the Barracudas since I was six years old, and I've come to know this team as my family. I also have been swimming on Sprayberry's varsity team for three years, and I plan to swim my senior year as well. I love the competitive spirit of high school swimming, but I look forward to summer swim the most because though the competitiveness is still there, it's a great time to have fun while still learning technique. I'm looking forward to a great season!
Junior Coach - Aron Tannenbaum
I am currently a junior at Wheeler’s Center for Advanced Studies. I have been with the Piedmont Bend Barracudas from the age of five, and a member of the Wheeler High School swim team for three years. I also play water polo at Wheeler for the club team. Other swimming experiences include, one year with the Stingrays, as well as being a certified lifeguard. I am looking forward to a great season this summer with the team, GO BARRACUDAS!
